89er Carnival

We visited the carnival on a beautiful Friday night. There were only 3-4 rides that they really liked so Lillian and Lucas rode them again and again. The carousel was a hit!

We almost ruined the night by starting with this rollercoaster. Both kids really, really...please, can we, Mom??? wanted to ride it. The picture shows 2 smiling children about to embark on a pleasing adventure. The after picture would have been scary! They DID NOT want to ride it again.

More Luc's style...

Nothing like having a friend to share the carnival.

89er Day

The kindergarten classes in Guthrie celebrate 89er Days in grand style! They spend a day playing old games like stick horse races, sack races, cow chip throwing, and roping contests.

Lillian wore this dress borrowed from her teacher. I pinned it to fit better and gave it a flouncy look. She wore it all day and it survived! I think it might have been a little hot that day but she didn't complain. I guess that's how it would have felt to be a lady in 1889!

Sack racing in a dress went pretty well!

Caught Reading

After a recent trip to the library, I shooed the kids outside, telling them "It's beautiful! Go enjoy the weather!" When I looked outside later, one of them had dragged all the books to the trampoline.

Easter Adventure #1

We spent Friday evening and Saturday morning in Apache. Saturday began with a hunt on the grounds of this old church.

The kids were divided by ages. I think Lucas was the oldest in his group because the egg hunting seemed too easy for him.

Ready for the action to start!

Lillian- ready to go!

The loot!

Friday Night in the Park

This actually happened a few weekends back; it was one of the first evenings of beautiful spring weather.

Lucas was very urban cowboy with his boots and Rockband tshirt.

An impromptu concert
