She's 8!

Lillian probably gets the award for the most birthday celebrations in one year.  Since her birthday typically falls on or around Labor Day, we usually spend it with both sides of the family and have a friend party.  These pictures were on the morning of her actual birthday at our house.

This gift led to the one waiting outside....a bike!

Lillian's Honors

Lillian read 81 AR books this year- the 2nd highest in her class. She also received her class award for Academic Excellence. Way to go, Lil! 1st grade was a breeze; I know you'll love 2nd grade!

Fishing With Dad

(taken with a phone; resolution isn't good)

Lucas kept track of "sleeps" until the fishing day. It was hard for a 3 yr old to wait for "7 sleeps" to fish, but the day finally arrived!

1st Grade Musical

The theme for the 1st grade musical was dogs, dogs, and more dogs! The kids sang several numbers and acted out a simple skit about a "mutt" who didn't think he fit in with the rest of the dogs. Lillian was a beagle- brown ears and black nose. Her favorite part was the singing and she did NOT want a speaking part.

She's in the back, with a brown shirt, and her hand over her head. Getting quality pictures in that building is a nightmare!
Great job, Lil!

Lillian's Big Night

Lillian as the 2011 Basketball Homecoming flowergirl, towering over the crownbearer.

Beautiful girl!

After her flowergirl duties, she changed for the dance routine she performed at halftime of the game. As always, she was the best on the floor! And had the best hairdo :)

Tooth Fairy's First Visit

The wait is over! Lillian lost her first tooth on a Friday night, sometime in September. I didn't write down the date! Arggghhh......!! Since this picture she has lost a 2nd tooth on the bottom and both top teeth are loose. She will surely be singing "All I Want For Christmas Is My 2 Front Teeth...." by December!

(She left a note for the Tooth Fairy to leave the tooth behind for her tooth bank. The Tooth Fairy obliged.)

Rise and Shine

Lillian's 1st grade class led Rise and Shine at her school's Monday assembly. She did such a good job reciting her lines! I enjoyed getting to see her on stage.

Dance Recital 2010

Lillian performed two dances- Pink Elephant in tap and Baby Bear Suite in ballet. It was such a treat for us to see her perform on stage and she did a wonderful job!

Celebrating Lillian

Lillian has had many accomplishments this week. She started with the completion of a 150 piece and a 100 piece puzzle.

Then, she finished her tennis lessons with the YMCA. She received a medal for her effort and learned several new skills to help her play tennis. I really noticed an improvement in the few weeks she practiced.

Last of all, she graduated from kindergarten Friday. Her class performed a piece about promising to read and then walked across stage to receive diplomas and have their tassels moved.

89er Day

The kindergarten classes in Guthrie celebrate 89er Days in grand style! They spend a day playing old games like stick horse races, sack races, cow chip throwing, and roping contests.

Lillian wore this dress borrowed from her teacher. I pinned it to fit better and gave it a flouncy look. She wore it all day and it survived! I think it might have been a little hot that day but she didn't complain. I guess that's how it would have felt to be a lady in 1889!

Sack racing in a dress went pretty well!
