Softball

Lillian decided to play softball this year.  It is the first time she has participated in a team sport.  It is also the first time she has swung a bat or caught a ball.  We are so proud of how she blossomed during the season!  She only struck out once in a game; she was the first one on her team to hit a homerun; she frequently hit singles and doubles.  These pictures are from the first away game in Apache.  She played centerfield for the first few games then switched to 1st base for several after that.  She ended the season with time at 3rd base and the outfield.  Overall, it was a great experience that we hope she repeats next year.

T-Ball

Lucas at his first and last t-ball practice of this year.  Long story: we overcommitted ourselves and had to give up something.  He chose to give up t-ball.

We planted another peach tree this year. 

They may be hard to see, but this tree is loaded with apricots!

Spring Break

Between rain showers, we decided to try some fishing.  I went along as photographer.  It took about 40 min to load the gear, get the worms, drive to the pond, and bait the hooks.  They had their poles in the water for about 15 min when the rain started.  It was a little sprinkle at first but became heavy in a hurry.  Lillian and I retreated to the car; Brent and Lucas fished in the rain for a little longer, but eventually gave up, too. 

This is the only proof that we fished on Spring Break.  And, by the way,...no one caught anything.
