Family Time

Garden 2013

Because of late spring rains, our garden looks better than ever! With the unusual weekly rainfall, the plants have grown quickly and are already producing veggies. We have potatoes, cucumbers, beans, okra, tomatoes, peppers, onions, squash, carrots, asparagus, and blackberries. Nothing better than picking from your own garden!

A First

Lillian is spending the week at Camp Lu-Jo KISMIF. She and her friend Lydia have been looking forward to this week for months! We are planning to visit I morrow night but word on the street is that she is doing fine.

It must begin again...

I've been chastised...for letting this blog slide. This has been on my summer 2013 to-do list for months.  And I've already started by downloading 691 pictures from my camera to the computer.

Then I realized Blogger has an app.

And my life just got easier. 

Houston Children's Museum

 

We started our vacation with a stop in Katy, TX, to see Heather and Jesse.  Before driving down to Galveston, we stopped at the Houston Children's Museum.

Apache celebrated Independence Day on Sat., July 8, with games for the kids and a hotdog feed in the park.

Summer Growth

Despite the heat, our little plants are holding up.  Here's a peek at what's growin':

New bed this year: petunias, rosemary, salvia, lantana, and something I can't remember

These beauties fill the field next to us.  I love having wildflowers in view!

Our plants are filled with these gems.  Nothing better!

Lucas wanted watermelon, so we planted one plant.  This is/was the 2nd watermelon on the vine.  As of this morning, there are NO melons left on the vine.  Pete thought both were balls and "picked" them. 

Memorial Weekend

Several family members gathered around Memorial Day for a little fun and cousin time.  Besides the usual cousins (Nathan and Wade), Lillian and Lucas got to play with 2nd cousins (I think), Josie and Clay.  All the kids play really well together and Josie is Lillian's only girl cousin
